Hi my beetles and camper (oddball)Hi I meet ashley for a short while when put an ad out on volkszone for a job in a garage , i bought my 1st beetle by accident after bidding for her on ebay i only found out i was the owner of a beetle when the woman rang me and said when are you gonna collect ya beetle !!
i went over put a new battery on and some good petrol and wow he was alive , the last time i was in a bettle was back in 73 in my dads one which was amazing back then , i had got into morris minors cos of the shape like a beetle but driving it home looking down the round bonnet got be hooked great fun , a week later i had another one which was really bad no floors no heater channels real crap but i saved some of the bits before i sold it off , next was a 1303 a few weeks later and it was another heap of crap so i drove it home on only the handbrake as stopping power (i know ill grow up one day) and put in my garage and sold it to a young lad for what i got it for ,
then
by chance the next one was amazing i bid for it but it never sold i contacted the guy and said ive got cash do you wanna sell it , an hour later i had it for £350 cash as it was a student who needed the cash
it looked like a jamaican soft drink (pink carpets)
over the next few weeks i turned him into junkyard herbie for 200 quid
and 20 cans or white primer 30 quid for herbie stickers and loads of bits from a few junkyards he looked good till the rain came down over Nov 07
My next Project is my T2 bay hi top camper which has been sitting for 7 years in my mates yard waiting for another life of love n fun in the sun,
Before and after a wash !!
it has a tuned 1800cc engine with twin webber carb fitted which need setting up , ive just been looking for a name for him so far ? , the underneath is amazing and solid for a camper !! only the drivers step needs replacement and one outer seal drivers side , its good underneath is down to the last owner keeping it on concrete and not grass and also had it undersealed it all before he parked it up , it sleeps 4 as its a walk throught cab inside loads of room no fridge or units only rear folding seats , its amazing its in such good nick cosmetics not good but its sound , i bought it for only £1100 quid and drove it home pulling wheelie's from the lights a few times MAD !! so far have spent time thinking of a new colour !

Hi junkyardherbie,
Good reading your history of VW's. I'm not sure if I have met you or not?
Are you local?
You missed our meet last night - really good turnout with approx 40 people there and a car park full of VW's
Pop along to our next meet on 26th March if you are not too far away
Cheers
Heather
