1303 miles (approx.), 5 countries, 9 days, 2 shows, visit the home of VW & the Karmann Ghia and a whole lot of Cruisin’.
Overview
This is not an organised pre-pay event, but a chance for like minded V-Dubbers to get together for a megga cruise taking in a couple of organised events and enjoy some of the sites of Europe. I hope I can interest a few of you to join me.
All expenses, entrance fees, channel crossing en-route will be the responsibility of each entrant, but I estimate the cost at £180 per person excluding fuel, based on 2 people per car.
Dates: 19th - 27th August 2006
Itinerary
Day 1 Sat - Early evening get together at Horndean campsite for a few introductory beers and sea front entertainment.
Day 2 Sun - BeachBuggin’ event starts the day, followed by a cruise to Dover & the first stop-over in Calais. 160 miles
Day 3 Mon - Head to Bruge for lunch and take in the sites of this beautiful city. 72 miles
Day 4 Tues - Early start for a full days driving to Goch, passing through Holland and stopping for lunch in Gent . 180 miles
Day 5 Wed - We join a small section of the famous Motor-Radstrasse Track, popular for its romantic roads that wind past rivers and lakes, curvy stretches. Peeling off at Onsabruck we take to road to Wolfsburg. 225 miles
Day 6 Thur - Morning visit to the Wolfsburg factory concludes with lunch before we hit the road again heading for Padarborn. 115 miles
Day 7 Fri - A full days cruise, stopping for lunch en-route to Spa’s F1 curcuit and Le Bug Show 2006. 185 miles
Day 8 Sat - Day at Le Bug Show 2006. 0 miles
Day 9 Sun - Homeward bound. 250 miles
