born again!Hi. I'm knew to vw campers. I've always yearned for one but never had the ability to go for it, due to funds, garage space and the luxury of owning a vehicle that is only used for part of the year. I'm working on the garage space with adverts dotted around Reading where I live. And now, I am seriously looking for a type 2, I would love a splitty but not sure my funds will stretch to that, so a bay will do me fine. I was at the bugs at the park on Sunday, what a shame about the weather. But I got a great sense of community, and it's a community I would like to get involved in. It's great that this forum is here. So, looking forward to chatting to other vw fans soon.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forum
My husband Ashley hasnt seen your email as yet but I will show him it when he gets in. In answer to the email yes he does do pre inspection etc.
Pop along to our meet next Wednesday and then you can chat to other fellow dubbers. Even better still, join up to the club - its free and you get included in all that goes on etc. You dont have to own a VW to join.
As far as a splittie or bay - you are right about prices. The bays are catching up very quickly though. For me its bay all the way
Hope to meet up with you soon

my babyIt's a 1979 white tin top type 2 bay with with alpine white bottom half. I love it. Though it was scarey when I first drove it having been used to a power steered automatic...it really did feel like driving a bus! We shall be joining you at future meets and festivals.
Thanks for asking.
By the way I like your (o\53/o)! very creative.
